• starting lineRecap from Sunny Day 2 of Subaru SEA OTTER CLASSIC
Sea Otter is in full swing after a busy Friday with highlights ranging from a busy expo area to North America’s first eMTB race and the U.S. branch of the Brompton World Championships on the famous turns of the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Pro men and women took to the rolling roads nearby for the road race while the mountain bike pros thrilled the assembled crowds on the short track inside the Expo area.
In the Expo area demo bikes flew off the racks, and activities from egg hunts to yoga provided entertainment for all ages. And, of course, hundreds of new products were debuted, shown off, and tried out from the more than 430 exhibitors on hand.
Tomorrow crowd favorites like cyclocross (at a new time – pros start at 1:30) and dual slalom will highlight the racing scene and the Expo area will be packed with events, demos and more (see below for a few can’t miss highlights). So grab a cold Sierra Nevada Sea Otter Ale from the beer garden (or pick one up later at Cannery Row Brewing in Monterey) and enjoy a huge weekend at the Subaru Sea Otter Classic!
