• 96 Hour Photo Project: Clock starts ticking at 9 a.m. Fri. Feb. 26 at Lovers Point

Here’s what all the hullabaloo will be about:

Local students will kick off the first day of a fast paced county-wide tourism photography project with respected nature photographer Chuck Fazio. They will be using a drone to get aerial shots in addition to still photos. Beginning at Lovers Point Park, they will begin shooting a 96-hour project showcasing Monterey County from the Big Sur coastline to the majesty of the Salinas Valley, followed by an exhibition just three days later at Wave Street Studios in Monterey. Local art students from the Arts Council for Monterey County will be involved in the 96-hour artistic frenzy.

The Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau and Chuck Fazio are joining forces for a collaborative, high-octane project showcasing the Monterey County destination with a “3D” perspective from sky to sea.

As an American Forests’ Artist-in-Residence, Fazio is known for compelling nature photography and will use that specialized talent to chronicle the iconic Monterey County.

The “96 Hours Over Monterey” exhibit will be open to the public at Wave Street Studios from March 4-5 free of charge. The project is presented in collaboration with non-profits American Forests, the Arts Council for Monterey County, as well as the Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
