The secret is out. At the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce luncheon Friday, March 1, the “anonymous” donor who has made a match grant challenge of $100,000 for support of the children’s pool at Lovers Point is … drum roll please … Mr. PG, Richard Stillwell. His name was leaked during an auction for the privilege of being the first to get into the pool plus a $100 lunch (offered by Vivolo’s Chowder House). Lovers Point Inn gave $5000 while former Pacific Grove mayor Dan Cort and Carmel Pine Cone publisher Paul Miller each gave $1000. A total of $11,000 was earned at the event, which honored Lovers Point Inn as best accommodation; Strouse & Strouse Gallery as best gallery; The Works as best eating establishment; and Gary Engles as best realtor.
