• Armed Robbery of Pedestrians in Monterey

On March 3, 2015 at 10:29 PM, two unknown male suspects, one armed with a handgun, and one armed with a knife walked up to a male and female in the 700 block of Spencer and demanded money. One of the victims was robbed of his wallet. The suspects were last seen fleeing on foot toward David Avenue.

One suspect was described as a thin build male, possibly Asian, in his early twenties, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a dark bandana covering his face, and was armed with a revolver. The second suspect was described as a medium build male, possibly African-American, in his early twenties wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt armed with a knife. A vehicle was heard leaving the immediate area but there is no description of that vehicle. Fortunately, the victims were not injured.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Monterey Police Department at 831-646-3830 or the confidential tip line at 831-646-3840.

Further inquiries can be made to Lieutenant Jeff Jackson, 831-646-3965 or Jackson@monterey.org

This is the Heal the Bay Beach Report Card for Monterey Peninsula beaches, which reports water quality grades, or when relevant, weather advisories. An A to F grade is assigned based on the health risks of swimming or surfing at that location. Look at the "dry" grade for all days except those "wet" days during and within 3 days after a rainstorm. Click here for more information on the Beach Report Card. Click the name of the beach when it pops up for more details, or choose a beach below.
