• Benefit Vets Yard Sale Postponed

The Yard Sale originally scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 22  at the Veterans Transition Center has been postponed – so watch for a new date in September.

“Our staff and our volunteer veterans are heavily involved in the various car shows this weekend, as well as helping with the American Legion BBQ Throwdown in Salinas Saturday and the Marina American Legion’s Lo Rider Bike Show Sunday,” said Terry Bare, VTC executive director.

“We want to be able to dedicate the needed hours to get ready for our first annual yard sale and we are finding wonderful values hidden away in our several warehouses, so we will reschedule a very large yard sale in September. Every cent will help homeless veterans in our community.”

Volunteers who would like to help are asked to email or call Xinia Whitler at (831) 883-8387 (VETS) ext. 26 or xwhitler@vtcmonterey.org.

This is the Heal the Bay Beach Report Card for Monterey Peninsula beaches, which reports water quality grades, or when relevant, weather advisories. An A to F grade is assigned based on the health risks of swimming or surfing at that location. Look at the "dry" grade for all days except those "wet" days during and within 3 days after a rainstorm. Click here for more information on the Beach Report Card. Click the name of the beach when it pops up for more details, or choose a beach below.
