    Big Sur International Marathon Friday, April 24 through Sunday, April 26 www.bsim.org

    A weekend of running activities includes a two-day Health & Fitness Expo free to the public, Friday and Saturday; the By the Bay Kids 3K race Saturday morning on the Pacific Grove coastline; and six running events including the marathon, relay, 21, 10.6 and 9 Milers, plus a 5K.  Free to spectators at Highway 1 and Rio Road.  Info: 831-625-6226 or info@bsim.org


    Big Sur International Marathon

    Sunday, April 26 • Highway 1 from Big Sur to Carmel • 6:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    Thousands of runners and walkers will be competing in six different events along Highway 1.  Distances include the 26.2 mile marathon, 21, 10.6 and 9-Milers, a 5K and the marathon relay.  Free to spectators at the race finish on Highway 1 near Rio Road.  On-site registration may be available for the 5K distance which begins at 7:45 a.m.  Info: 831-625-6226 or info@bsim.org

    Health & Fitness Expo

    Friday, April 24, noon – 6 p.m.
    Saturday, April 25, 9 a.m. –  6 p.m.

    Monterey Conference Center

    Free event showcasing 60 vendors with the latest fitness gear and apparel, food and nutrition items, race events and more.  Free running clinics available throughout the day on Saturday.  Info: 831-625-6226 or info@bsim.org

    By the Bay Kids 3K

    Saturday, April 25, 8 a.m. • Lovers Point Park, Pacific Grove

    4,000 school children, parents and teachers will run a 3K distance along the shores of Pacific Grove.  Children’s entertainer, activities from Monterey Sports Center and awards to Monterey County Schools are offered.
