• Car Week Will Impact Traffic

On Wed., Aug. 14 The Little Car Show will take place downtown Pacific Grove, blocking off Lighthouse Ave. downtown. Again on Aug. 16, the Concours Auto Rally will block Lighthouse, and the popular tour will launch at 6:00.

The California Highway Patrol is reminding area residents to plan ahead for delays that may be encountered on area roadways due to events surrounding the annual Auto Week festivities.  Beginning on August 15, events kick off throughout the Peninsula, Carmel Valley and SR-68 corridor.  Traffic is expected to be particularly heavy beginning Friday, August 16 and continuing through Sunday the 18, due to the Concorso Italiano event at Laguna Seca Golf Ranch and the Rolex Motor Sports Reunion at Laguna Seca Raceway.

Additionally, Friday’s Concorso Italiano event is expected to draw several thousand spectators, participants and vendors through the SR-68 corridor, and will most likely affect traffic on SR-68 throughout the day.

Extra CHP Officers will be posted at special event locations throughout the weekend to expedite traffic flows and minimize delays.  However, area motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes if possible to avoid roadways that may be impacted by the week’s activities.

This is the Heal the Bay Beach Report Card for Monterey Peninsula beaches, which reports water quality grades, or when relevant, weather advisories. An A to F grade is assigned based on the health risks of swimming or surfing at that location. Look at the "dry" grade for all days except those "wet" days during and within 3 days after a rainstorm. Click here for more information on the Beach Report Card. Click the name of the beach when it pops up for more details, or choose a beach below.
