• City Council Action Sept. 17, 2014 meeting

Major actions taken by the Council at its regular meeting on Wednesday, September 17 include:

 Received a presentation on the Holman Highway/Highway 1 roundabout, which will be under construction for a year, starting in the fall of 2015. (For more information, go to http://goo.gl/EaYn8B)

 Adopted an ordinance approving a ten-year lease with two five-year options with Pacific Grove Golf Links, LLC, an affiliate of CourseCo, Inc. for the management, maintenance, and operation of the golf links.

 Adopted the ten-year Sewer System Master Plan. For more information, go to http://www.ci.pg.ca.us/index.aspx?page=309

 Held first reading of an ordinance specifying the charter for the Golf Links Advisory Commission (GLAC), the Council’s advisory body on all matters to do with the Golf Links. The GLAC’s charter needed updating, now that the course is being managed by CourseCo, in partnership with the City.

 Provided initial direction to staff on design guidelines for parklets and enclosed outdoor restaurant seating. Staff will conduct one or more public workshops, and then return to the Council with the information gained, for further consideration of the design guidelines.

The agenda reports and supporting documents for all of these actions are on the City’s website, at http://www.ci.pg.ca.us. Details of the actions taken will also be available, upon completion and adoption of the meeting minutes, which will also be posted on the website.

This is the Heal the Bay Beach Report Card for Monterey Peninsula beaches, which reports water quality grades, or when relevant, weather advisories. An A to F grade is assigned based on the health risks of swimming or surfing at that location. Look at the "dry" grade for all days except those "wet" days during and within 3 days after a rainstorm. Click here for more information on the Beach Report Card. Click the name of the beach when it pops up for more details, or choose a beach below.
