• Council Meeting Wrap-Up

    Major actions taken by the Council at its regular meeting on December 7, 2016 include:
    • Approved a resolution declaring the results of the November 8, 2016 Municipal Election.
    • Presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Councilmember Miller for his years of service on the Council.
    • With a special introduction from Captain Ken Johnson (ret.), presented a Certificate of Recognition of Lt. Commander Nona Cheatham (ret.) in honor of the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day.
    •Adopted a resolution clarifying Workers’ Compensation Coverage for volunteers to
    reflect the City’s current participation in PARSAC.
    • Approved a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Inter-Agency Agreement for the Monterey County Behavioral Health Crisis Negotiation Team.
    • Held a second reading of an ordinance to amend Chapter 2.30 of the Pacific Grove Municipal Code (PGMC) regarding City campaign finance regulations.
    • Held a second reading of an ordinance to amend the CalPERS contract to provide Government Code §20516 employee sharing additional cost provisions.
    • Held second reading of an ordinance to amend Chapter 23.74 of the Pacific Grove Municipal Code (PGMC) regarding the City’s call up review processes.
    • Received the Strategic Planning Effort report.
    • Approved the proposed schedule of City Council Meetings for 2017 and 2018.
    • Approved the appointment to the Beautification and Natural Resources Commission of Colleen Goldsmith from 12/7/2016 to 1/31/2017.
    • Introduced and held a first reading of an ordinance that adopts PGMC Chapter 1.18, creating an expedited hearing process for motor vehicle parking violation enforcement, and directed that publication of the ordinance will be satisfied by publication of a summary approved by the City Attorney.
    •  Selected Councilmember Robert Huitt as Mayor Pro Tempore in accordance with the from open nominations by the members of the City
    Council.
    •  Approved the appointments of Councilmember liaisons to City boards and Commissions and the City representation on regional boards.
