• Library Summer Reading Program

    The Monterey Public Library invites the community to participate in its annual Summer Reading Program. From June 1st through July 31, readers of all ages can celebrate books, learning, and creativity at the Monterey Library’s Pacific Street location and on board the Bookmobile. Sign up and earn prizes for reading this summer! Join us for free performances, lectures, classes, and hands-on creative activities for all ages. Visit monterey.org/library/events for a full listing of events.  

    The celebration kicks off on Saturday, June 8th, from 1pm-4pm with a free family-friendly party on Colton Hall Lawn, featuring performers, crafts, snacks, MY Museum’s Wheelie Mobilee, special appearances from the Monterey Fire Department and Police Department, and more.

    This is the Heal the Bay Beach Report Card for Monterey Peninsula beaches, which reports water quality grades, or when relevant, weather advisories. An A to F grade is assigned based on the health risks of swimming or surfing at that location. Look at the "dry" grade for all days except those "wet" days during and within 3 days after a rainstorm.
