• Local Acts Sought for County Fair

    The Monterey County Fair is taking applications for community acts to appear during the fair.  Event organizers say they look forward to showcasing local talent daily and thus embrace the locally grown spirit of this year’s fair theme,“Celebrate 80 Years.”

    There are openngs for dance, gymnastics, vocal and martial arts groups. There are spots for afternoon and evening performances. Entries must be received or postmarked by Thurs., June 30, 2016. For more information or an official application, visit the fair’s website at http://www.montereycountyfair.com/pdf/2016/community_act_16.pdf.

    The Monterey County Fair runs from Wed., Aug. 31 to Mon., Sept. 5, 2016.
