• Major Staffing Changes at PGUSD

At last night’s regularly scheduled meeting, the Pacific Grove Unified School District Board of Education accepted the resignation of Mrs. Mariphil Romanow-Cole, Principal of Forest Grove Elementary School, who has accepted a position at the Monterey County Office of Education.

Replacing Mrs. Cole will be Mr. Craig Beller, former principal of Forest Grove Elementary School and current principal of Pacific Grove Adult School and Pacific Grove Continuation High School.

Ms. Barbara Martinez will leave her Assistant Principal position at Pacific Grove High School and promotes to Interim Principal of Pacific Grove Adult School and Pacific Grove Continuation High School in Mr. Beller’s stead.

Replacing Ms. Martinez as Interim Assistant Principal of Pacific Grove High School will be Mr. Sean Keller, current English teacher, recently awarded his California Administrative Services Credential.

The District is recruiting for a highly qualified English teacher to replace Mr. Sean Keller’s classroom position for the remainder of the 2013-14 school year. Cross training is currently taking place with the anticipated start date being Monday, September 30, 2013.

“We thank Mrs. Cole for her dedicated service these past four years, wishing her much success in her new position at MCOE and with confidence, enthusiastically welcome and support each administrator in their new role,” said a school board spokesperson.
