• Road Work Will Slow Traffic at Main Intersection

Drivers who use the intersection of Pine Ave. and Forest Ave. will face slowdowns and parking issues in the area as Pacific Grove Public Works begins a three-week project in the area. The first part, says Public Work’s Daniel Gho, involves curbs and handicapped-accessible ramps. The area has been posted for no parking.

Gho says once the intersection is finished, they will begin working on failed areas of Pine Ave. up to the intersection with Alder St. Bad portions of the pavement will be removed and repaired.

Barring heavy rainfall, the work should be finished by Oct. 7 at the latest. But Gho says he’d welcome rain nonetheless because it would water the golf course.

This is the Heal the Bay Beach Report Card for Monterey Peninsula beaches, which reports water quality grades, or when relevant, weather advisories. An A to F grade is assigned based on the health risks of swimming or surfing at that location. Look at the "dry" grade for all days except those "wet" days during and within 3 days after a rainstorm.
