• Services set for Darby Fuerst

    A celebration of the life of Darby Fuerst will be held Sat., Dec. 14 at 2:00 p.m. at the Asilomar Chapel, Asilomar Conference Grounds, 800 Asilomar Ave., Pacific Grove. Darby Fuerst died on Monday, Dec. 9 of cancer. He would have been 64 on Dec. 12.

    He served the Monterey Peninsula at the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District since 1985, starting as a project manager and retiring in 2011 as the district’s general manager.

    Darby Fuerst served as a scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 90 in Pacific Grove for 10 years.

    He is survived by his wife, Andrea and two sons, two daughters, and four grandchildren.

    In addition to the Celebration of Life, there will be a Funeral Mass at St. Angela’s Catholic Church, 9th and Lighthouse in Pacific Grove, at 10:30 a.m. with interment at El Carmel Cemetery immediately following the Mass.
