• We’re leaving for Nicaragua Feb. 14: What are you doing Valentine’s night?

T.A.S.K 4 U & ME ~ Together Achieving Successful Kindness along with members of Monterey Pacific Rotary will be traveling to Nicaragua for the fourth straight year along with eight students from Pacific Grove. The group will be returning to Nicaragua, servicing five cities in six days!

In a 4-year period these two programs together have connected hearts not just in Nicaragua, but right here in our own country.

An 8th grade class at San Antonio Academy of Texas has, for the second year in a row, raised funds for the projects to share with the children Nicaragua. Their $1,600 donation will make a tremendous impact on the children of this country that is so far away.

Together with the “presence” of our children, this journey will make a lifelong connection of the heart. The journey will be packed with goodness, delivering backpacks with school supplies to children and through the “magic of Rotary” this team of eight students and three adults will this year take the international language of music: A grant was received to provide instruments for a music academy in Jinotepe Nicaragua.

The team will also lead and participate in interactive educational activities with the children of Los Quinchos Orphanage and be a part of a cultural experience that can only be embraced by stepping outside of Pacific Grove.

Donations are still being accepted as they prepare to leave Valentine’s night. WHAT ARE YOU DOING VALENTINE’S NIGHT?

Founder of T.A.S.K and Rotarian, DiAnna L. Gamecho along with fellow Rotarian John Mims and Janet Light will lead this team in a joyous journey of goodness.
