• What you need to read about Measure F

On August 8, 2012, the Pacific Grove City Council approved placing Measure F on the November 6, 2012 ballot and adopted the supporting Mitigated Negative Declaration. Measure F, if approved by the voters, would modify the C-1-T zoning district by increasing the maximum building height standard to 75 feet and the maximum lot coverage standard to 100% for the Holman Block (bounded by Lighthouse, Grand, Central and Fountain Avenues). The existing C-1-T zone allows a variety of commercial uses including a hotel, with building height and lot coverage standards that mirror the 3 to 4 story buildings typical of the downtown area. Drake Leddy, President and CEO of Presidian Hotels & Resorts, proposes to build and manage a full service hotel on the site. On September 5, 2012, the City Council approved the developer obligations and assurances embodied in the Developer Agreement and Developer Assurance Letter.

On the city’s website, at, are the assurances that many are seeking before they vote for Measure F: The fact that the City has sole discretion, that the Measure only involves Presidian Hotels and no other developer, that the Measure has a sunset clause. Many other facts and assurances are included on the attachments.
